Joy is a 34 years old, multi-artist, mom, she borned in Recife city, Pernambuco, Brazil and currently living in Switzerland. She learned her artistic skills as a child through self-taught contact with the women in her family who are artisans and seamstresses, but it was only in 2017 that she began to promote her art professionally. In therapy, in addition to art, she is also a Reiki Therapist and since 2017 she has worked as a Loctician/Dreadmaker and Afro Hairstylist.

In 2021, she was able to complete the Illustrated Portrait, Collage and Tattoo courses. And so she continues to seek knowledge and experience in different fields of art.

​

 

In 2018, she took part in the art exhibition (Faunos) at the Espaço das Artes in Pernambuco, where she also took part in an artistic intervention (Muralism) in the art space itself. She has also taken part in other art events.

​

 

She brings to her art what she likes to see in the outside world, her insights and feelings from her inner world, transmuting them from the soul and materializing them into amulets as reverence, gratitude, ancestral connection and healing tools.
